That’s the Rhythm & Routes promise.
Meet Lizzie
I’ve spent over years honing the skills and experience that help my clients plan trips that strengthen their life, not drain it. Travel has always been my way of understanding the world. When I was little, I would hide under the covers with encyclopaedias and atlases, tracing my finger along distant coastlines and imagining who lived there, what they ate, how they spent their days. That early curiosity shaped everything that came after.
Over the years, I’ve built a loyal client base who trust me to hold the full picture for them. They come to me because they want someone calm in their corner, someone who thinks ahead, someone who sees the details they’d miss because life is busy and their minds are full. They stay because they feel supported, understood, and safe.
Before travel became my full-time path, I taught business and economics to A-level students. I loved helping people grow, learn, settle, and find their confidence. In 2000, after a cancer scare, I realised that I should follow my heart and work in a field that I am passionate about. I stepped into the travel world. In 2014, I stepped out on my own. I wanted the freedom to serve people properly, without corporate targets or the pressure to push certain products. I wanted to plan travel from the heart, with thoughtful care, grounded insight and the kind of attention that takes the weight off someone’s shoulders.
I work quietly and steadily.
I listen closely.
I pay attention to the things people don’t always say out loud - how tired they are, how stretched they feel, how much they want a break that doesn’t leave them more exhausted than when they left. I protect their time, their energy and their money as if it were my own. And when I know something isn’t right for them, I tell them gently and explain why. Honesty builds trust, and trust is the foundation of every strong journey.
Rhythm & Routes brings together the threads of my life - my love of travel, my grounding in wellbeing, a personal drive for wellbeing considering my own health scare.
Aligning with our Transformational Coach, Dianne, has added another, deeper, level of support to my clients, that no other travel booking professional offers.
So, I brought all this, along with instinct for thoughtful planning and my commitment to helping people feel stronger, calmer and more balanced in their everyday lives. I believe travel should meet you where you are, support the stage of life you’re in, and give you space to breathe again. It should help you come home with more of yourself, feeling stronger or transformed - not less.
How many times have you said “ I need a holiday after that holiday”
Travel can be many things.
For some, it’s rest.
For others, it’s reconnection.
Sometimes it’s healing.
Sometimes it’s curiosity.
Often, it’s all of these at once.
My job is to help you find the trip that strengthens you in the way you need most.
If you want a guide who listens deeply, cares sincerely and holds every detail with intention, you’re in the right place.
Your life has a rhythm.
Your travels should follow it.
Meet Colin
I spent 20 years in the nuclear industry. High pressure. High stakes. My claim to fame - I was the first person to detect the Chernobyl radioactive cloud over the UK. My job was protecting work colleagues and the public from radiation and contamination.
But I couldn’t protect myself from what the stress was doing to my body.
At 40, I collapsed on my way to work. Pulmonary embolisms. Blood clots caused severe issues with my breathing, in my lungs from a DVT in my leg. The consultants were clear - it was the stress. The pressure. The relentless demands of the job.
I had to leave my position in this industry. My body had given me no choice.
After I recovered and my breathing repaired, I worked on A&E ambulances for five years. Rewarding work. But stressful in different ways.
Eventually, I left the Ambulance Service in order to help Lizzie build her successful travel business. Because I understand what happens when work takes over. When your body pays the price. When you realise too late that something has to change.
So, what do I do?
I vet our suppliers. I handle marketing. I make sure everything we offer actually helps people - because I know what it’s like to need that help yourself.
I also work with clients who love sport. F1, golf, tennis. Because life isn’t just about recovery. It’s about enjoying what you love while you still can.
These days, I hike. I mountain bike in our glorious surroundings. I get outdoors and clear my head. That’s what keeps me going.
If you’re reading this and thinking “I’m burned out, I’m stressed, I need to change something” - I get it. I’ve been there. In fact I left it later than I should.
Let us help you find a better way.
